But is he friends with Einstein??

Tonight I donated the giant terra-cotta pot salvaged from my friend and neighbor's place to my backyard, to a very grateful family across the street. I just had to! I hadn't been very good at growing things this summer (ny fake flowers are happily blooming in my planters) so, when I was walking RexDog tonight, and this um, big - breasted woman across the street - couldn't help but notice - was dragging an abandoned planter into the big high-rise, her three little girls looking on,I asked why, and she said her mother who lived upstate had a whole garden of large planters, and it made her happy, growing things for her grandchildren. So, I said, my neighbor Stan gave me one last year, if you want it - it's in my back yard - and she was all happy "Oh, it will go to a good home! It will be loved!" (??? It's a friggin' non-feeling planter-object-thing!) One of her girls grabbed RexDog around the neck, and the mother squealed, "You do not treat a dog that way! Look into his face! He has emotions just as you do! You must respect that!" Hooo-kaay! She then turned to me and said, "Their father wanted a large dog for them, but he died a year or so after my youngest was born. I think eventually I'll get them a nice big dog like that." TMI. Too much information, especially recited in front of her children after meeting a complete stranger walking a dog. "Is he a friend of Einstein?" one of her girls shouted. It was too noisy, and I asked her to say it again. "I said, is he a friend of Einstein?" she yelled. This made no sense to me. She framed her hands in fan-shape on both sides of her face and screamed, "IS HE FRIENDS WITH EINSTEIN???" "I don't think so," I said. The mother explained, "Einstein is an elderly yellow lab who lives in this building." Later I thought about it and realized that yes, RexDog had met crabby old slowly-bumbling Einstein across the street late one night several weeks ago.
