2006-11-11 - 2:29 a.m. New York Reality Driving home the other day, traffic was tense along Second Avenue. There were at least three ambulances pushing traffic aside, and one careening police car rushing to some place. At one point, the SUV to my left turned into a side street, and I heard a screech of brakes, and looked to see a man who had been hit, but there were too many vehicles surrounding me, so I couldn't pull over. I did see him raise his arm in the air, waving, so I prayed he was alright. There was no mention of it on the news later that night. I suppose this happens quite as a matter of course here in New York.
