2007-06-10 - 7:49 a.m. Tumbling Rats A few weeks ago I was "outed" and admonished at work for a personal blog entry. No way could it be traced to my workplace. I am not a dullard; I made it vague on purpose. They diplomatically acknowledged they know the law and can not censor my personal free speech, so I diplomatically admitted I'd said my piece and took the entry down voluntarily. That said, here's an entry. I took my dog for a walk the other night and we enjoyed two large rats playing and tumbling over each other about five feet away. There are other more unusual wildlife to be spotted here in New York City. The day before we'd taken a walk by the river and saw a commorant diving for fish. Two blocks from where I live, imagine! I sent my neice a little pink sparkly barette with the initial "S" on it that I'd found outside a corner bookstore near where I live. Sofia sent back an artistic sparkly thank-you letter that made my day, with a pix of her and my brother and Judy Rose, her mom. Gerry looks so fine, thin and trim, and Judy looks young, and a bit like Reese Witherspoon, and Sofia looks a lot like a mini Judy although the people at work say they see my facial features in hers. That was so sweet having a letter from so far away - Australia - to know they thought of me. I've been doing all I can to keep mentally healthy, going to book readings and plays at least once a week and journaling, walking by the river, also taking a few quiet days to spend at a B&B in Connecticut with just me and The Dog. I'm seeing two docs (medical and psychopharmacoligist) but I am still stuck in a depressive episode that I'm fighting to live through. I'll be OK.
