2008-08-21 - 11:53 p.m. Working in the Country After such a long time, here's just a short post - been coping with depression & sleeplessness...Today, at work, trying to meet two important deadlines, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was my imagination, or maybe that my hair was in front of my face. Soon I spotted a nice big wolf spider near my computer monitor. I couldn't get a cup over her - she moved too fast - so I sprayed all around my computer with some art fixative (toulane) that I had in my desk, which, if it didn't affect the spider, certainly annoyed and affected me and the co-workers. I researched wolf-spider bites on the web - OMG. I hope the wolf spider has left my cubicle. I'm taking days off to prepare my tenement apartment for the regal visit of my bro who I haven't seen in perhaps 8 years (?) and his good partner Judy and my never-before-met, one and only niece Sofia. Sofia is but 5, so prob won't recall much in the future of her life, but I think she'll have fun while here in the moment, in my place, with all my miniatures, tiny collectible cars and chairs and all, (I'm as my brother once said, sweetly, a childlike soul) and we'll have a fun time visiting the polar bears Gus and Ida at the Central Park Zoo, and, yay!!! - there's a great street fair just a block away that weekend. This is so exciting!
